Batteries produce explosive gases. Normal battery operation causes production of explosive hydrogen and oxygen gases. When charging a battery, do not allow sparks or flames near the battery. Always provide adequate ventilation. Wear protective eye wear. Explosive gases can cause injury or blindness. Do not smoke while using cables! Do not let vehicles touch each other. Improper hookup can cause damage to your car. Batteries should be the same voltage type. Do not boost a frozen battery. Batteries should not be the same voltage. After connection, do not let positive and negative clamps touch each other or come in contact with metal. Improper hookup can cause damage to your car. Should battery acid contact skin or eyes, flush with water. Get medical attention. Sulfuric acid can cause severe burns and blindness.

Directions

(1 & 2) Connect the red clamps to the positive (+) terminal of each battery. Do not allow positive cable clamps to touch any metal surface on the auto. (3) Connect black clamp to the negative (-) terminal of good battery. (4) Connect the outer black clamp to any metal part of the (dead battery) vehicle's frame, exhaust manifold or engine block, making sure it's away from the fan or other moving parts. Important: Do not connect clamp to negative terminal of dead battery! It may produce sparks that could ignite battery gases causing a serious explosion. Start car then immediately remove clamps, reversing procedure by removing clamp at engine block first (4,3,2,1).
